Day-by-day Socotra tour itinerary
Day1: Landing on Another Planet
Touch down at Socotra Airport and meet your local guides. Transfer to Hadibo for a traditional welcome meal and orientation. As you settle in, the jagged skyline offers your first glimpse of this isolated world.
Your first sunset over the strange, rugged peaks of the island.
Day2: Into the Dragon’s Lair (Dixam Plateau)
Ascend to the limestone highlands of the Dixam Plateau. Here, you will stand beneath the iconic, umbrella-shaped Dragon Blood Trees. It is a photographer's dream—a landscape that looks more like Mars than Earth.
Watching the trees turn silhouette-black against the twilight sky.
Day3: The Heart of the Forest (Firmihin Forest)
Trek deep into Firmihin, the densest forest of Dragon Blood trees on the planet. Walk ancient paths surrounded by thousands of years of botanical history and witness the red resin ("dragon's blood") that made this island famous in antiquity.
A picnic lunch surrounded by a prehistoric forest found nowhere else.
Day4: Secrets of the Underworld (Hoq Cave)
Embark on an adventurous hike up the cliffside to the mouth of Hoq Cave. Inside, venture over 2 kilometers deep into the earth, exploring a cool, silent world of massive crystal stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient inscriptions.
The thrill of total silence and darkness deep inside the mountain.
Day5: Paradise Found (Detwah Lagoon)
Descend from the rocky interior to the coast. Detwah Lagoon is a breathtaking expanse of white sand and turquoise water. Swim, snorkel, or walk the sandbars at low tide in one of the world's most beautiful protected marine areas.
Meeting the local rays and pufferfish in the shallows.
Day6: Dolphins & The Hidden Coast (Shuab Bay)
Board a local boat for a ride along the dramatic cliffs to the secluded Shuab Bay. Keep your cameras ready—spinner dolphins frequently race alongside the boats here. Spend your final afternoon on a pristine, empty beach accessible only by sea.
The rush of seeing wild dolphins jumping in the boat's wake.
